I am proud to share that we have successfully completed this year’s Valentine’s for Seniors Card Drive, delivering more than 1,500 heartfelt messages from across our community to older residents throughout the 37th Senate District.
Our effort reached more than 15 senior living and care facilities. During many of these visits, I was able to sit down with residents and spend meaningful time in conversation that went well beyond simply delivering cards. Those moments of connection are what make this initiative so special each year.
My favorite part of this effort was getting to hear the seniors share their stories and talk about their lives. Those conversations were meaningful and a powerful reminder of the wisdom and experiences within our communities.
Residents were also eager to talk about the work we are doing in Springfield, and it was important for me to hear their perspectives and experiences. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with individuals who recognized me from past interactions in the community.
I am truly grateful to everyone who took the time to participate and help brighten Valentine’s Day for seniors across our district.
