I recently attended the annual Peoria Area Legislative Breakfast hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce, where municipalities and county agencies from across the region shared updates on their priorities for the year ahead.
The event brought together leaders from public safety, public health, county government, and other local entities, each outlining recent accomplishments, upcoming initiatives, and where additional support may be needed.
While each organization had only a brief window to present, the breakfast provided a helpful snapshot of the challenges and goals facing the region. It also created valuable opportunities for follow-up conversations.
In fact, we have already begun connecting with several departments individually, including the Peoria City/County Health Department to better understand their needs in greater depth.
Staying engaged with local leaders and agencies is critical to ensuring the voices of Peoria-area residents are heard and represented in Springfield.
