I’m honored to receive the 2026 Friend of Agriculture Award from the Illinois Farm Bureau.
Agriculture is a major part of the communities I represent, and I’ve had the opportunity to hear directly from farmers and agricultural leaders about the challenges they face and what they need from their state government.
The Friend of Agriculture Award recognizes legislators who understand the importance of Illinois agriculture and the role our farmers play in providing food and fuel here at home and around the world.
For me, supporting agriculture means listening to the people who know it best. Our farmers understand firsthand how decisions made in Springfield can affect their farms, and livelihoods, and their voices need to be part of those conversations.
I’m grateful to the Farm Bureau for this recognition, but even more grateful for the work our farmers do every day. Agriculture remains one of the foundations of Illinois, and I’ll continue working to make sure our farmers and rural communities have a strong voice in Springfield.
